Consummate and quintessential

Nigel Hall is an interesting artist for a number of reasons, not least of course because of his work, but also because of his generation and origins, continuity of practice and being possessed of a ‘great eye’, (as they used to say about someone who had a rare sense of form).

British artist Nigel Hall works by British artist on view

An elegant, loosely geometric simplicity — which isn't as simple as it looks on closer inspection — is the hallmark of an exhibit by British artist Nigel Hall at the City Arts Center. Called "Carbon Handprints," the solo show spanning 40 years of the career of the Royal Academician contains two large sculptures, more than 35 drawings and 25 maquettes, models and small sculptures.

Why veteran sculptor Nigel Hall is intrigued by ovals

Canary Wharf will become home to a number of sculptures by artist Nigel Hall – whose work will be familiar to east London drivers.

For the artist, who celebrated his 73rd birthday recently, is best known for the sculpture that adorns the exterior of the Limehouse Link tunnel, perhaps a nod to his fascination with hollow ovals.
